Offspring's Big News
Offspring has been very reluctant to get her ears pierced -- it's mostly my fault. I told her the story about when I got mine done. The little gun got stuck on BOTH of my ears, and it hurt like the dickens. So, Offspring was natuarally very wary.
Today was the day that she overcame her fear very bravely, and went for it! My baby is growing up so fast!

Gosh, are those really diamonds?
So brave. She looks beautiful and satisfied.
Wow, that was brave! The Princess wants the earrings, but not enough to go through the piercing.
The earrings - and Offspring - look great! Has she decided what sort of earrings she would like next yet?
La Binsk
Yeah for Offspring! So very exciting.
Kid L will hit 6 months with pierced ears in March. She loves her earrings and it seems the days of constant cleaning are far, far behind.
wow! good for her. I got my first earpiercing done when i was 6 and a half after begging and begging and begging my mom. i loved the pretty sparkly that was my earrings - hope offspring does too :)
No -- we're not in the money enough for real diamonds just yet! :) I've told her that if she can keep them in for a year, and keep them clean, I might buy her real diamonds for her 11th birthday. These are cubic zirconias in a 14K setting. She liked the sparkly ones. :)
While we waited for the teenager in front of us to get her fifith or sixth hole done, Offspring was greedily eyeing the sparkly, dangly earrings. I feel sure that I have created a earring monster, and a large portion of her allowance will be going toward earrings in the future. She's already totally enamored of the way she looks in the mirror with earrings. She even told me that she snuck off to the bathroom to have a peek at them today during school! See - an earring monster, I tell you!
Congratulations!
KLee, it's funny that you should mention Offspring eyeing the dangly earrings. Every time that we look at earrings Kid L is picking out the ones that dangle, sparkle, and have things hanging from them. Absolutely not, but she got a pair of the tiniest hoops I have ever seen and she loves them. Plus, she is the envy of the other pierced ear girls because they cannot have hoops yet.
I remember getting my ears pierced. I was in 5th grade. IMy first pair of earrings were little ladybugs.
How cute is she?! I had my ears pierced when I was a baby, so I don't remember ever not having them. What excitement!
