Not Exactly a "Smart Fit"

This is a recent picture of our cat, Lotus. (Also known as "SheWhoAggravates.") Lotus loves boxes. Any kinds of boxes. No matter how small it might be, any box that gets placed on the floor is immediately filled to overflowing with cat.

Offspring had just gotten a new pair of shoes (black Tinkerbell sneakers) and Lotus wedged herself into the box in record time.

Baby Blue does the same thing. Maybe she's part cat?

But Baby Blue can at least heft herself in and out of the box, can't she? The cat seems to get stuck, or so comfortable that she's unwilling to exit the box.

BB is way cuter, and less furry to boot!

That's how tight Molly Dog has to squeeze to get into her favorite chair. So cute!

One of my cats is exactly the same about boxes. The other one only pretends to be interested in boxes to piss off the first.

:) Ah -- the box as power struggle.

Explains why we only have the one indoor cat. We have several neighborhood kitties who have decided that we are easy marks, and who have adopted us. This mainly consists of dropping to the ground and presenting bellies in hopes of scratchings any time we appear. Oh, and sitting on our air conditioning unit, looking hopeful and yowling until they get fed.
