Do You Think Offspring Will Notice?

Apparently, Lotus has long been nurturing a deep-seated desire to attend fifth grade. As proof positive, I offer you this picture of her wedged into Offspring's backpack. Do you think that Offspring will notice the extra 12 pounds in the morning?

Probably not if you put Lotus inside the backpack. Otherwise, I don't think she can hold on forever.

If she doesn't mind the added weight, I'm sure that the portable heat generator would be appreciated on a cold day!

Andi -- the zipper on the bag was undone, but the flap was closed when Lotus began burrowing. All that digging and wiggling got her this far. It's not too much of a stretch for her to hunker down into the bag even farther...

Miche -- heat generator? Whatchoo talking about? It's 74 degrees here today! We don't need no steeking heat! (Living in the tropics is *such* fun. Not.)

She definitely won't notice the extra weight. I feel like backpacks just get heavier every year, regardless of grade. This summer, I helped pack my 1st grade nephew's backpack, and I couldn't believe how hefty it was! Sheesh.

So cute! Kid L would be thrilled if one of our cats got inside her backpack. As it stands now, the cats are more inclined to pee on her backpack.
