Do you guys even remember me? It feels like it has been so long since I posted that I'm sure you've all dropped me from your blogrolls!
I'm still here. Busy at work, busy at Girl Scouts. Busy, busy, busy.
Trying hard not to lighten my slight depression over being the size of a small Orca by eating a case of Girl Scout cookies and thus compounding the problem.
I have a friend who has a marriage that is fracturing, and it's tough to toe the line of friendship between husband and wife as both were our friends. It's also tough to see so many years together devolve into hurtful barbs at each other.
I did have a bit of a chance at some "me time" this weekend, though -- JF was kind enough to not grumble too loudly when my Girl Scout unit sprang a surprise, last-minute adults-only stamping/scrapbooking night together. We had a great time, and I hope we get to do it again soon.
We are firming up plans for a St. Patrick's Day weekend getaway to St. Augustine, Florida to further our familial obsession with all things piratical. We plan to stay in a hostel/inn in the Historic District called, oh-so-appropriately, the Pirate Haus. We wanted to stay in the Pirate Room, but it was booked. We did get to book the Map Room. We have plans to visit the Castillo de San Marcos, the old town area, Potter's Wax Museum, and Offspring has begged for us to take her to the Ripley's Believe It Or Not Museum.
So...what are you all up to?

I haven't been to St. Augustine in years, but when I was there I went to all the places you named. It is a very beautiful city.
I realized that we are down to a single digit amount of GS cookies (boxes not actualy cookies). They usually last us a year.
Kid L is now hooked on Puzzle Pirates. I am still not any good at being a pirate.
It's really difficult when you are friends with both wife and husband -- and they get a divorce. I hate that situation. And it keep coming up more and more often in my life ....
CCW -- uh-oh! No more cookies? That's what happens when you have a husband, two kids, and a pregnant mom in the house! I have yet to break open any of the 3 boxes I bought yet. Though, they are calling me might hard. I tried burying them in the fridge, but I think they creep to the front every night.
Oh, sorry I strung out Kid L on Puzzle Pirates. I should be charged with 'contributing to the delinquency of a minor.' :) At least it's fairly innocuous. If she likes free RPG's, I also highly pimp out Disney's "Virtual Magic Kingdom." she can create her own avatar, and tool around the Magic Kingdom, playing games and taking pictures of the Hidden Mickeys. You can find that game at www.vmk.com .
jo(e) -- the problem is that I'm friends with the wife, and JF is friends with the husband, and we want to try and be supportive of both, but both are trying to wage a pitched battle, and we're trying not to alienate either of them without getting caught in the middle. I hate it, but if half the things that are going on are, in truth, occurring, then they do need to split up.
Ugh, that sounds awful. We have one friend getting a divorce, but the details were so awful that we totally dropped the husband with no qualms whatsoever. I hope the fighting on their part passes soon, and you can maintain your relationship.
Have a FABULOUS time in St. Augustine! I'm very jealous!
Yes, yes, Have a lovely trip.
We spent this past weekend at woodland-themed, indoor water park resort. We even booked the room with the pretend cabin (with bunk beds) for the kiddos. They loved the idea, but refused to sleep there. So, we all ended up in the queen size bed. Wished we'd booked the (less expensive!) room with 2 queen beds!
The water park was enjoyed by all, however. As was the kiddie craft room, where "we" colored T-Shirts, decorated bags, and strung bracelets.
It as wonderful to have a little trip.
