"Thank You, Jesus!"

Watching the first graders leaving school today, giddy with the knowledge that they were free from the educational shackles until January, I overheard this little nugget of child perspective:

"We have Christmas because it's Jesus' birthday."

"Thank you, Jesus, for being born and giving us vacation days!"

I know just how you feel, kids. Right now, we're as tired of you as you are of us!

Whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Yule, Solstice, or Festivus, we can all unite in the common love of vacation days. Wake me up when it's New Year's.
